HONGKONG DAY 3

HONGKONG DAY 2

Started the day by visiting the Clock tower and the Avenue of Stars. But before that, we had to take a boat to cross the river over to Tsim Sha Tsui side.

We had lunch at Pokka Cafe at Tsim Sha Tsui. At the cafe, we spotted two actor/actress look a like! =DD We ordered millet sprout milk tea, thick cut stewed pork and mixed vegetable miso ramen and grilled japanese eel fried rice. The food was good.

After lunch, we started on our major shopping spree. I think we spent quite some time at a few of the shops and bought just sooooo many things! But the style there is rather similar to the zipia bone's style. Just that its at half the price. Wooooh!

For dinner, we dined at the Star Cafe at Austin Road. Omgggggg. The food was sooooooo freaking gooooood! We had a huge feast, really. We ordered, lobster
blique with sherry and brandy. Pan -fried goose liver on mushroom stew and orange port reduction. Ox tail stew in red wine and finally, hot souffle maison. Damn, it has got to be one of the best meal in my life. =DD

After dinner, we went to temple street to look see look see and soak into the hongkong culture. We just had to have dessert, because its a holiday rule. So, we stopped by 'Xu Liu Shan' for some mango dessert and also the birds nest and 'xut kap' in coconut.

GUANGZHOU DAY 4/ HONGKONG DAY 1

Last breakfast at Guangzhou, before leaving for Hongkong! We went back to the 5star Hotel for dimsum breakfast. And yes, from the pictures, its easy to tell that our all time favourite at Guangzhou was Xiao Long Bao. We ordered it three days in a row!! =DD After breakfast, we went took a train back to Hongkong.

Upon arrival at Hongkong, Da Jie and I checked into our hotel. We stayed at Cosmo hotel at Wanchai, near causeway bay. The boutique hotel is beautifulllllll! The staff were all damn helpful. And the hotel never failed to smell like citrus. LOL

We took a shuttle bus from the hotel to Times Square at Causeway Bay and look! They had huge teacups outside the Times Square concourse! DAmnnnn cuteee! We took MTR to Central and had our first meal at Lan Kwai Fong. I had maggie mee with abolone and ham. yummyyummy!

The queue to take the tram up the Peak was damnnnn long. And it was rather annoying with this china couple behind my sister and I. =(( But okay, the wait was worth it, because the view up there was really good! I was really obsessed with the Bank Of China tower. Its HK's icon isnt it!!!! HAHAHA.

And look! There's an icecream parlour with a million flavours! But I had to give it a miss because of lent sacrifice to not eat icecream. omggg. How nobel!

GUANGZHOU DAY 3

Dim Sum breakfast at another hotel. And it was better than the first day's dim sum. I think i like xiao long bao now. After nineteen years. haha.

I love my green scarf! Yes, I was inspired by the green scarf in the 'confessions of a shopaholic'. Haha. Finally tried Zhen Gong Fu. And the food was really good! We ate a lot the whole day actually. And I captured the bucket of milk with rose petals i soaked my leg in, to remember the very shiok massage. lol.

GUANGZHOU DAY 2

Started our day by having Dim Sum brunch at the restaurant in our hotel. The dim sum was not bad actually, except for the fried chee chong fun. After that, we took a cab to Zhuang Yuan Fang for a major shopping spree. I think this is the first time I bought so many things that I've trouble carrying my buys. Just look at the big black rubbish bag I was carrying on my shoulder! And thats not all, because we came back for round two after putting the first round of stuff in the hotel. =DD

In the evening, we went to Shang Xia Jiu. Walked the street a few times before finding the very very good restaurant my sister wanted me to eat at. The food was good, but my taste bud is spoilt. It was only towards the end of the meal that I realised that the tofu dish did not contain peanut, but salted eggs. OMGGG. Then we had the usual Shuang Pi Nai at the dessert place near the hotel and also, the full body massage!

GUANGZHOU DAY 1

Took the morning flight to HK international airport. Had brunch at the airport. It was the bestEST breakfast I ever had, ham and fried egg set at Dai Ka Lok. =DD Thereafter, we purchased our octopus card and took a bus down to the train station and took an express train to Guangzhou.

Upon reaching GZ, we checked in to the hotel and went for dinner. Dinner was at an eatery near the hotel. They served the yummiest crab porridge. I think i had like 4 bowls of it. The shishamo was awesome too! And the sweet sour pork was omgggg the bestEST. I think i ate like 3/4 of it. After dinner, we walked down to the market place beside it, and bought a lot of little stuff, like hairbands, stockings. Da jie and I got ourselves a costume hairband each! I bought the rabbit ears which were damnnnnn super cuteeee and she chose the devil ears, which suit her pretty well actually. HAHA.

Walked over to Bei Jing Lu and did some shopping. There were soooo many shops and toooo many things to see. It was really crazy, but guess what. Thats not the best shopping place! lol. We had shuang pi nai at a dessert place near our hotel. It was so damn freaking goooood. The smoothest, the most authentic shuang pi nai I ever had. And yes, we had shaung pi nai every night. HAHAHAHAHHA. Went back to the hotel and after our bath, we went for full body massage which was so damn shiok. And of course, we went back for the full body massage every night. HAHA.

Finally I'm done blogging about Turkey. However this doesnt mark the end. Turkey's too beautiful. Landscape, culture, food and history are too captivating that its difficult to forget. I'll be back someday. Maybe I'll be able to speak Turkish by then! =DD Till then, I'll keep whatever beautiful memories I have of the trip deep in my heart and remember all that I felt.

Towards the end of the journey.

Hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia, Turkey, was indeed an unforgettable experience. Waking up at 5am and travelling towards the mountain region in a mini bus was worth it. Located in the center area of Turkey, it was also one of the coldest region. Being high up in the sky in early morning means temperature could easily be lower than 0 degrees Celsius, but the flame burst that fill the balloon provide much needed warmth, only for my face because poor toes were freezing. On top of the unique structure of the spectacular formation that earned its name of fairy chimney, the whole scenery was further beautified under nature's work. Under the sunlight, the fairy chimneys and other formation glowed and looked more golden than any ordinary sedimentary rocks. It was really one of the best encounter with Mother Earth.

I remember the most common topic for primary school English essay writing is 'the most unlucky day'. And the typical storyline would be getting up late for school, being late blahblah. But that is nothing compared to my day today. Today, is probably really the most unlucky day of my life. Firstly the tailor screwed up my prom dress. And screwed up as it, he made the dress become a tube top. And looking for a birthday present isnt really the best thing to do after a tiring day. On top of that, just when I thought that zipia bag I ordered would probably cheer me up, I went home and found out that it had some defects at the side pocket anddddd I dont know if I can bring it for the Turkey trip now. Sigh. Okay, but I had some fun with Ellice. I'm thankful that we met up and hang out. I'll probably be a million times more upset if it werent for her. We finally went to Esprit Cafe at Centrepoint! After say, 10 months of wait? Hehe.

Its really a great chill out place with damn good food! I intended to just get a drink initially, but the strong smell from the sandwich melt just tempted me to over-order. As usual. But we had a really good talk. =DD

GUESS WHO WE SAW AFTER THAT! THE LITTLE MISS AND LITTLE MR.! HEEHEE. They were totally cute in real life! I can only recognise Little Miss Sunshine, Little Mr Happy and Little Mr/Miss Grumpy. I dont know if it is male or female. But anyway, I cant remember the character with the blue body and white bandage on the head! and the girl with berries on her head. last week was really damn happening. not because of any big-time 18th birthday celebration, but more so due to all the unexpected happenings! firstly, i fell ill on thurs, thats one day before birthday celebration with fabian ng, and one day before graduation! nownow, to make things worst, i vomited twice in school on friday morning, thinking that i might have to cancel dinner and movie plans that night. but i went ahead with it in the end, even though i didnt enjoy mama mia and the food. lol. then came the actual birthday, i woke up feeling worst than any piece of shit on earth and i waited over an hour at the doctor, before taking a blood test. yes, a BLOOD TEST. my FIRST blood test on my birthday. the doctor thought it was dengue at first. so, to be safe, i cancelled dinner at night with ij friends. butbutbut. jamie and rachel came over in the afternoon and gave me a surprise. okay, it was really very sweet of them to brave the storm and come visit me. jamie lee wrote a damn sweet compilation for me that looks more like a wedding gift. hehe. and i received my first minnie mouse balloon, making me feel like i was celebrating my eighth birthday instead of eighteenth. recess friends came over at night, and they made a grand entrance as usual, making so much noise and i think they pissed my neighbour off. and the thoughtful bunch bought a mango cake, knowing that i cant take chocolate. we had a mini catch up, since its been a long time since we last gathered. recess friends never fail to cheer me up. i thought it was the worst birthday ever, but they made it special with their presence. like what joscelinefoo said. there's something special about recess friends, and this unique trait of theirs will only leave me wanting more gatherings. =D i sooooo cannot wait till bintan my friends. we'll have a time of our lives! pictures are taken a keppel bay last friday. it's blur and shaky that i was so close to deleting all of them.

Destination in December.
Its my motivation now to carry on with the never - ending revision. Intense studying starting this week for me and I am scared because I now see how much I have to catch up with. Its illogical, but I felt tired by Tuesday. Like real tired. It takes a lot to be prepared for weekly tests, to finish all history outlines, to make sure that I am not lagging too far behind ( its just impossible to keep to the study plan) and I am not confident of sustaining this momentum. As it is, I am already mentally drained and it is only my fifth day of studying. Judging on how I have been screwing out my sleeping cycle these past few days just to do the minimum work, I am very certain that I will be in a terrible state after four months. Not that I am going to reorganise my lifestyle now at the expense of my revision time, I just feel that I will need a lot of stamina to endure this period and it will be shameful if I cant persevere.

I think I have taken many people for granted over the years, or failed to express my gratitude towards them due to whatever reasons. Today, when fabian ng left my house to book in, I felt a strong sense of loneliness. Well, I realise that I always enjoy my weekends, because I always have him for company, hence the sudden emptiness within me whenever he leaves. Yet, I've never once thanked him for bringing me so much joy and always being there for me. Its the same with my other friends and even my family. I always take it that people around me will know how much I treasure them and all, but then again, everyone needs reassurance. Damn, I'm in the mood to spend real quality time with each and every person i care for and love, but then I look at the notebook with all my undone work jot down and then its time to come back to reality. Now just isnt the time for any socialising. I know this may seem insincere and not as impactful, but Nicole misses all her friends and wishes to tell them how much she treasures each and everyone one of them.

had German food last night at Vivocity. a cuisine fabian ng and i seldom eat. we ordered weissbier (german beer). it was my first time tasting beer so i cant really compare that with the normal beer. HAHA. it smelt like apple juice when the beer was a few centimeter away from my lips, but far from apple juice when its in my mouth. haha. the wurstplatte (sausage platter) was fairly normal. a few of the sausages tasted the same. i couldnt tell the difference, and i dont know if i'm lucky or what, but i couldnt differentiate which one was the sausage made of liver. HAHA! the pork knuckle was fabulous! i'd say it was the best dish of the night! the skin was crispy and the fats melted in my mouth! the meat was soft too. we ate half of it plain, before realising that the sauce made the dish even better. stabs. hahaha. overall, it was a great experience just that we had to wait very long before we were offered our seats, or rather, the staff just ignored the people waiting outside.

11th month yesterday. Boyfriend and i went to the disney cafe (recommended by liao) before heading to ikea. planned to eat meatballs and chicken wings, but found that the ikea cafe was under renovation. =((( Disney cafe was a great experience though. The seats were mickey shaped and so was the pizza! they played enchanted and high school musical at the big screen so people like us could watch and eat at the same time. a great chill out place for people who want to avoid the weekend crowd in town and at the same time, enjoy both good food and movie! =DD

Boyfriend's first bookout! A long awaited day. planned to surprise him at pasir ris interchange. but it was impossible for me to rush from school to the other end of singapore within 20 mins. so i decided to be patient and wait for him at home. honestly, my heart was beating damn fast as it got closer to 930. HAHA. what a freak. my first reation upon seeing his hair? or what ever thats on his head? OMG. SOOOO UGLY! hahahaha. but i got used to if after 12 hours? haha. he's definitely tanner and tougher. and it was my first time seeing boyfriend wearing sleeveless since i demanded that he wear the grey army shirt over. haha.

Saturday was great. we ate bishan ytf, something he had been craving for for the longest time since he first went in. we then went to get some army stuff at ang mo. but being the boring him, he didnt get any junk food. can you imagine, bunking with a guy who doesnt really snack? man.. HAHAHA. lazy us decided to watch a movie at amk hub before going to church, instead of going to bugis. 27 dresses was really good! since we dun watch romance movies often, and it was the perfect activity to cater to our laziness. got a beautiful dress from amk hub. like what tallest bestfriend and liaos say, i'm in love with that place. dinner that heeren billy bomers after that. boyfriend wasnt used to eating food with taste. HAHAHAH. how weird that is. in fact, he's appetite became smaller. so yes, he lost his monstrous appetite. food was good just that portion was toooo huge. I saw this shirt i fell in love with instantly at fourskins, but unfortunately, boyfriend doesnt even think its nice. whatever it is, he WILL wear it someday. HAHA!

Sunday was ultimate slack! just the way i love to spend my sunday. lazed at home till evening before meeting jos and kuek at chomp chomp. i had 5 dinners today, really. so that means no dinner for me for the next 4 days. right now, i' m just gonna sleep and let my tummy grow coz i'm just tooooo lazy to do anything. cheers to the new week ahead!

BESTMAN'S BIRTHDAY BREAKFAST!

At dim sum place at 126 Sims avenue, near geyland lor 17. damn super gooooood. the best i had in spore actually. HAHA!

well. birthday celebrations started one day before chris's birthday. cyn, puny, jamie and i went to pick our only male member of regs. how honoured he must have felt huh! went for ice cream at dempsey hill. recommended by liaos. great place! wonderful ambience. just a little hard to get there ah. headed off to clarke quay after that. to 'sit down and talk' haha. pity that my jamielee wasnt there. next day, the four of us got up early in the morning to surprise chris at his home. thereafter, we went to goooooood breakfast. yes. thats about it actually. that marked our last birthday of the year. regs is officially non 16 years old.

I just finished watching Hana Yori Dango 2. Watched part 1 last november, and have been waiting for a year for this to be released. okay. i could have watched it earlier, but no. nicole has school.

Jun is definitely weird looking. but nicole adores him. HAHA. I bet Jessica Kuek has something to say. oh! thanks kuek for the the dvd! it certainly perked me up and became my new obsession.

anyway. the soundtrack is the only thing i'm listening to now. gosh. i love this show. its soooo good. especially the ending. its been a long time since i watch such a good show. ya. too good that i totally lost interest in why why love. i'm not even excited about watching the last episode! i'm just glad that i'm already at the last episode and i'll be done with it soon. hahaha. evils. good news. i found out that there's gonna be Hana Yori Dango Final next year. a movie i think? i'm so looking forward to the new year!

Time to post about 17th birthday! dinner with family at Marutama Ramen at central mall! food was great. sister paid for the whole dinner! =D

I was feeling really down days before my birthday. largely due to the hectic schedule to complete the choir noticeboard before cj open house! staying back on monday and tuesday till 8pm is not cool at all! and knowing that there's sound check on my birthday just made it worst. and not forgetting the post promos pressure. cause that means getting back shitty results! okay. just say its everything adding up that resulted in my weird behaviour for that whole week!

BUT! choir ended at 4 on thursday. and i left school at 530 after doing a little touch up to the noticeboard, before meeting boyfriend in town! =D took a train down to city hall. went to suntec. throughout the whole journey.. i had no idea where we were going okay. we ended up at the build-a-bear place. its really cool, cause we chose our own rabbit, saw it being stuffed with cotton, putting its heart inside its body, brushing its fur under this big blow dryer, choosing its judo outfit, and finally, creating its very own birth cert! yes, it has the same birthday as me! =D went to eat brownie after that, before going back home.

here's the surprise. i was all ready to watch why why love and slack my night away, since i was unable to do so for the whole week! but no! regs (full strength) were already at my place, all prepared for a night's celebration! and recess frens were there too, together with clara and marilyn. celebrating my birthday with my most treasured frens.. what more can i ask more man!

Teachers Day celebrations today! it was fine at cj. prayer service which was more like a performance or something, cause people kept clapping at inappropriate times. and then performance by a few groups of people.

Now, manymanymany ij girls went back to ij after that (yes! celeste too!). thats when the real celebrations start man. okay. the first thing i noticed was the air condition hall. hello? privileged juniors.

this year's celebration was damn cool! each department had a theme la.

english/literature - bollywood.

chinese - harry potter.

maths - chinese kung fu

science - cowboy

pe - retro

and this group of teachers dressed up in flintstones costumes! they even had two babies to complete the whole flintstone family! uberrrr cuteeeee.

the catwalk was hilarious la. i never laughed sooooo hard before.

julie leong was damn cartoon. she was carrying a CHINESE DICTIONARY that is like 10 inches thick, to go with her harry potter suit. damn convincing la. HAHA.

teo peng suan was high dancing la! omg. she practically shaked her way down the asile during the catwalk! damn spontaneous! HAHA.

and the next weird movement was some science teachers 'shooting' us with their guns. OMG. DAMN FUNNY DAMN FUNNY DAMN FUNNY!

and thats all i can remember actually.

but bottomline is that i miss ij soso much. the feeling to be back is damn good. feels like i'm home once again!

Celebrations ended around 1130. then the whole population rushed to the staff room. the 'old choir people' met up to visit mrs low together. and this junior imitated mrs low. and omg. its freaking alike la! when she said 'personification' i just couldnt stop laughing. its like 99.9% alike! ya. apparently the first part of the performance had a slot allocated to girls to imitate the teachers la. aiyoh. sounds damn fun, but i missed it all. AHHHH!

Yesyes. i spent my whole day ytd baking cupcakes with clara and bianca for mrs low and mrs seah! here's the testimony of one day's labour!

Lunch with recess friends after that. gawd. i miss them like crazy! felt like we haven met for years or smt. but what we talked about on the train really hit me hard. gut feeling tells me that if she continues to piss us off, we'll probably stop putting in that effort to keep in contact, and friendship for the longest time will just come to an end somehow. i'm praying hard that my gut feeling wont be accurate, but seriously, i think she needs to know what she's doing to us, and to herself.

Alright, my beloved kuek went back to australia today. but i'm very sure that she'll read this when she's there, back home. well, previous post was so not a tribute hello! haha. so let me do my part in contributing to the whole tribute thingy ya.

knowing jos and kuek is the best thing that ever happened to me. i feel so fortunate to have such supporting and sincere friends. knowing that they'll be there no matter what. come to think of it, the love and concern they have showered me for the past nine years has made me become so emotionally dependen on them. from the advices we used to give one another on bgr, to the deepest thoughts we share with one another. all these will be remembered. our friendship has been the most smooth sailing one i must say! in fact, i dont remember having any arguments or conflicts with any of them. yes, we never quarrelled!

the time we spent together for the past four years has really made us know each other so well. so much that jos and i know how to deal with kuek when she refuses to step out of her house to meet us, either because she's plain lazy, or she had gone insane and wanted to meet someone else instead! haha. and kuek and i will know how to deal with jos' forever changing mood, thats really the nicest way to put across her mood swings. =O but i must say that jos and kuek are the nicest creature on earth, to be putting up with me, the most demanding person on planet earth. I LOVE YOU GIRLS SO MUCH. and because i'm so used to having their understanding, its hard for me now to find people with half their qualities! yeah. i'm just glad that the emailing is going strong. in fact, i dont feel that we've drifted that much apart, despite us being so very separated physically. i used to spend a min of 8 hours with them everyday. but now, it isnt even 8 hours a month!

but i'm so very certain that we'll remain as tight as ever, seeing how much effort we're all putting in to keep the friendship strong. a true friend is hard to come by, but guess what. i've got TWO!

Okay. its been a really long and busy week! i've been doing history everyday! but the workload seems to be only increasing. andandand. my total number of hours of sleep for 3 days is like 10 hours? like. TEN HOURS divide by three is THREE HOURS a day on an average? yes. and now i feel weird after sleeping for 8 hours. HAHA.

then. we had a surprise party for jamie lee! it wasnt easy getting everyone down ya.. especially when the ij girls didnt turn up in the end. =( but nonetheless, it was decent enough la, with regs, fabian, 1T01, church people and drama frens coming down. yeah. the only pity is that regs were so darn tired! yeah. busy week la.

okay! its been a great day today. started of with choir at noon. then off to j8 to study! then moved to bishan library. that place totally rocks la. besides the freezing aircon. HAHA. studied till 9. had dinner with cyn chris jamie and fabian! I LOVE REGS OKAY! seriously. OMG! regs bought 'kenny'! like all of us have one each! that includes yuanfeng of course. HAHA. ahhhh. i cant wait for the 'regs and co.' badge to be ready! andandand. for short. i'm just glad i met regs today. they totally made my day. HAHA! if only puny was there. i miss that girl, and i dont know why, since i see her everyday. HAHA!

I LOVE REGULARS!

we met at 10am at harbourfront mrt station. as usual, jasmine was late again! for like one and a half hours this time! so, being the kind me, i taught jamie the choir songs while waiting for jasmine to come! HAHA! yes! jamie lee is officially in choir! though we're in different section, i'm totally excited about her being in choir! i'm so gonna share room with her in slovakia la. HAHA!

reached palawan beach at 1215? settled down to have our lunch. jamie brought egg sandwich. though i didnt get to taste it since i'm abstaining from eggs this lent, it sure looked fabulous! puny was so proud of her tuna sandwich. i swear that little girl is sooooo adorable. and finally. my smelly fishballs. gosh. the smell was so strong that i felt so embarrassed in the mrt. i totally felt like a fish monger. not that i have anything against them... so. back to lunch. i really felt like we're a family or something la. i mean, how often do you find friends who click so well with you man!

so. besides pigging out, we played in the sea. it was damn fun la. jamie piggybacked me! she makes a good horse! HAHA. chris is too big size la. i had a hard time holding on to him =D we talked about sooooo many things under the 'bridge' HAHA. seriously, we talked non stop. it seems like we have endless topics to talk about! yes. we played volleyball for like 15 mins. and tanned for 30 mins? and went back to the sea again! yf came halfway. but he was on the shore the whole time. HAHA.

i know Jamie already told the regulars this at the beach. but i wanna say in again! like since repetition is to emphasise it ya. HAHA. well, here is goes... i feel damn happy whenever i'm with the regulars, and i wanna thank all of you for being my fwwwen. HAHAHA. gosh. i love jamie!

1T07 second bbq at borui's house! well, it was great catching up with them! just that i was dead tired, after being in the sun the wholeee day. yeah. and i didnt help to clear up la. cause i was really damn tired. felt like i was going to faint any moment. HAHA. the bbq made me realise that I MISS 1T07 SO MUCH! yes. i wanna have another class outing soon! and this time, everyone should come! and that includes dear shauna. HAHA.

Had breakfast with choir seniors in the morning. Just realised that the coffeeshop near my hse is called 'kou fu.' HAHA.

Met Josceline after choir. we went to far east, and we met cheryl, denis and dianne! took a bus down to ps to meet recess frens and their partners. HAHA. Seven of us, together with my sis, went to watch Disney On Ice, Finding Nemo. We were late for the show! so we didnt get to see mickey and minnie coming out! and what made things worst was that i left the tickets with my sis and she came later than us! I felt sooooo bad. so anyway. we took a long time to find our seats because some family sat on our seats! but i thought our seats were great! haha. the show was fine.. haha. only thing was that the sound system kind of sucked. felt like i was at home watching it or smt. HOHO! the seven of us went to ice cube after that to look for vic. woah. the journey was an adventure itself. we walked all the way out to macs to get a cab. waited damn long, and we finally decided to call one down. HAHA. the three singles, including me shared a cab. and of course, the two couples went together. haha. like what jos said. they were both soooo compatible!! the singles are happy for them la. HAHAHA!
